Caroni Employees 21 years old 1998 Kevon Slippery Moreno 2nd release is a "Heavy Rum" from Trinidad. It is part of a series of bottlings dedicated to employees of the Caroni distillery which closed in 2003. The Italian house Velier has acquired part of the stock of old rums, which it has left to age in its country of origin. In 2019, Luca Gargano decided to stop the ageing of these very old rums, by repatriating them to Europe. Tropical ageing causes a very high proportion of angels (more than 85% in this case). After 21 years, the rums had to be taken out of their barrels.

Kevon "Slippery" Moreno worked at the distillery for 10 years. He was immortalized in this image taken by the late Fredi Marcarini. This rum was distilled in cast iron columns in 1998. After 21 years spent in former bourbon barrels, it was selected in 2019 by "tasting gangs" made up of rum enthusiasts from all walks of life. This batch of barrels was blended and then bottled at cask strength.
