Our tasting notes for Vintage 1998 - 15 years

Nose : à la fois ferme et soyeux. Avec une infinie douceur, des fruits exotiques (banane, mangue) caressent tout d’abord les papilles olfactives. Cependant, le caractère phénolique (térébenthine, camphre) de Caroni reprend rapidement le dessus.

Palate : ferme et douce à la fois. Les papilles gustatives sont littéralement inondées par des saveurs miellées et florales (géranium, jacinthe, réséda). Le milieu de bouche est occupé par la canne à sucre et par du chocolat noir.

Finish : longue, duveteuse. De nouveaux fruits font leur apparition : des pêches abricotées, des brugnons, des fraises des bois et même quelques myrtilles.

The state-owned Caronidistillery in Trinidad and Tobago closed in 2002. After 84 years of practice, she leaves behind a few column stills, ironing stills and a few barrels that will give birth to the vintages* that we offer.
