This distillery has a fascinating history, that of its various stills: it operated first with a cast iron still and briefly with a wooden Coffey Still, until it introduced a copper still in 1945, followed by a single column in 1957 and a four-column Gerb Herman still in 1980. The cast iron still and Coffey Still were later replaced by new twin column stills produced by Messrs. Blair, Campbell & McLean Ltd. of Glasgow. Then new pot stills were finally introduced in 1984 in the distillery. The distillery Caroni closed in 2002 and remains closed.
