Secha de la Silva, Rum from Guatemala

Guatemala is known for its beautiful landscapes, rich culture, and quality coffee production. But did you know that this Central American country is also a renowned producer of rum? Guatemalan rum is a premium product, and among the most appreciated brands is Secha de la Silva. Discover everything there is to know about this rum from Guatemala.

The Secha de la Silva brand was founded by the 5th generation of Scottish distiller from the William Grant & Sons group. Over the years, the brand has grown in popularity and has become one of the country's largest rum producers.

Production Process

Secha de la Silva rum is produced from sugar cane grown in the plantations of the Quetzaltenango region. The sugar cane is harvested by hand and pressed to extract the sweet juice. This juice is then fermented and distilled in traditional copper stills. The rum is then aged in oak barrels and infused with local coffee and cocoa for several years before being bottled.
