Toucan Rum: Distilled in French Guiana, Sublimated in Toulouse

Agricultural Toucan rum is produced in French Guiana, not far from the equator line, east of the South American continent.

On this very ancient land, whose emblem is the beautiful bird Toucan, flourishes a virgin forest of extraordinary density, many places of which have not yet received the imprint of a human step. It is at the edge of this forest that sugar cane and its juice are enriched with aromas. This pure juice is then carefully fermented and distilled. He then delivers all the spirit of this natural setting at Rhum Toucan, with lush equatorial flavors, which will enchant each of your tastings with this taste of the great wild spaces.

The climate of French Guiana, warm, humid, and benefiting from constant sunlight throughout the year, creates ideal conditions for the cultivation of sugarcane, always harvested manually. The pure juice extracted from this cane, known as vesou, is rich in aromas. It is first fermented, then distilled in the distillery located in Saint-Laurent du Maroni. The city of Toulouse plays a crucial role in the refining of high-quality rum. The Toucan range offers several distinct products: besides the white agricultural rum, famous for the aromatic intensity of the fresh cane, it includes a spiced rum named Boco and Vaniliane, a variant enriched with a vanilla pod for a unique flavor.

Does the Toucan brand still exist?

On November 22, 2022, Catherine Arnold, who was leading the Toucan brand, announced the end of the journey. Since then, the brand may have found new buyers, but no new cuvée has been launched on the market. As of the writing of these lines, we are marketing the last bottles of rum, with no certainty as to the continuation of production.
