Domaine de Courcelles Vintage 1972 (emb 2019)

This is the very last vintage of the Courcelles distillery. Now closed, this distillery was founded in the 30s on the island of Grande-Terre in Guadeloupe. Closed in 1964, owner Amédée Huygues Despointes then transferred the stills to the Sainte-Marthe distillery.

1972 is the year of the last vintage and last distillation from molasses of this distillery. Aged in 220-litre oak barrels, this rum was bottled in February 2019. No age is indicated on the bottle but we estimate the maturation in barrels of more than 20 years, such as the previous edition.
