Prichards

Distillation has been part of their family for generations. 5 generations ago, in 1822, Benjamin Prichard of Davidson County, Tennessee, passed on his "still, tank and everything else" to his son Enoch.

Benjamin's will provided him with all the necessary documentation of the last known and legal distillery in the Prichard family. Benjamin Prichard began producing Tennessee Whiskey with a large amount of sugar and wheat which resulted in the pure Tennessee brandy. It was then distilled in old stills. Much of the uniqueness of Prichard spirits is directly attributed to the small-batch manufacturing process using a conventional copper still and vigorously adhering to quality criteria. In 1997, Phil Prichard opened the Prichard distillery in Kelso. The Prichard distillery represents the first legal distillery to be built in Tennessee in the early 50s. Using the highest quality products and the same techniques, Phil has succeeded with great skill in producing some of the finest tasting rums and whisky produced in the United States. The production of Prichards'Fine rum truly represents the restoration of a lost art form.
