Spytail

Spytail Black Ginger Rum – is a blend created from rums from the French Caribbean and bottled in Cognac in France. Named after a famous submarine whose plans were discovered by Spytail distillers, it is based on a traditional nineteenth-century recipe of aging French Caribbean rum in barrels filled with fresh ginger and spices – resulting in rich, spicy and complex rum.

The very first motor submarines were invented in France and tested in the Charente river that borders the distillery. It was these submarines that inspired Jules Verne in his famous novel 20,000 leagues under the sea. The glass bottle with its very marked relief is inspired by the original design of the French submarine. The coordinates inscribed on the bathysphere-shaped bottle are those of Jules Verne's last resting place in Amiens.
