Isautier, the resurgence

Hello Mrs. Ferrand and thank you for granting us this interview. The Isautier distillery has been operating a renewal for several years now, and offers us three remarkable rums in tribute to three historical personalities of the distillery. Can you please introduce us to Louis and Charles Isautier?

Louis & Charles: Two brothers, those who founded the rum distillery in 1845. Originally from Nogent-Sur-Seine in Aube, Louis Isautier arrived in Réunion (Bourbon Island) in 1833, joined a year later by Charles Isautier . They find on the island their great-uncle Laurent-Philippe Robin, apothecary of the king and wealthy landowner as well as cousins, merchants settled in Saint-Pierre. They invest in agricultural land, marry Orré girls, a powerful family of landowners and embark on the adventure of cane, sugar and rum.

The bottles offer have a particular aesthetic, they are triangular. Can you tell us more about these bottles?

These bottles are inspired by the historic triangular bottle that has become emblematic of the Isautier brand, created in 1910 by Alfred Isautier. The aesthetics have been lengthened, the lines straightened for an elegant and refined rendering, but the triangular shape retained.
