Our tasting notes for Bas-Armagnac Vintage 1986 Jean Cavé
Nose : Ne demandez pas un Armagnac de ne pas être boisé, ce serait trahir le terroir. Certains sont résolument tanniques et virils, d'autres tirent sur le Bourbon. Ici on fait le choix d'une troisième voie. Un Armagnac au boisé d'une grande finesse qui louche…
Palate : Fraîche et fruitée, elle évolue de la douceur du sucre d'orge vers l'acidulé des agrumes (toujours l'orange sanguine) et des fruits exotiques (maracuja). D'abord crémeuse, sur la noix de macadamia, elle se fait plus incisive et terriblement appétissante.
Finish : De bonne tenue, elle s'évanouit sur une fine amertume végétale plutôt classe et sur une grosse bouffée de fraîcheur mentholée.
