History of the distillery

This rum has its origins in a pivotal period for Cuban tradition. Distilled in 1948, it comes from the old Cuban cellars, probably linked to the heyday of distilleries such as Vizcaya or Havana Club in Cárdenas, before their nationalization and the closure of the historic site in the 1960s. This unique context gives this spirit an invaluable heritage character.

Aged for 76 years in a tropical climate, Chapter 7 - Cuban Rum 1948 76 years old offers a deep amber colour. Its nose surprises with rare aromas of olive oil, black olives, ancient balsamic vinegar, precious varnishes, candied cherries, pipe tobacco and chocolate truffles. The palate opens with notes reminiscent of a very old amontillado: ancient walnuts, liquorice, black tobacco, coffee, olives, brine, sherry vinegar and a touch of mustard. The finish is distinguished by an exceptional, saline freshness on amontillado, walnuts, morels and subtle vinous notes.
