When Dominican rum meets Islay peat

The Ron Esclavorange, developed by the Danish bottler 1423 World Class Spirits, has its origins in the Dominican Republic where rum is distilled and aged according to the Hispanic tradition. The XO cuvée represents a selection of rums aged for a long time in oak barrels. For this special edition, the rum is finished in casks that have contained peated whisky from Islay, a mythical Scottish island known for its smoked single malts.

A dialogue between softness and peat

The nose surprises with the harmonious cohabitation between notes of caramel, vanilla and tropical fruits, and a smoky and iodized veil inherited from the Islay barrel. On the palate, the sweet roundness of Dominican rum is enriched with accents of peat, sea salt and spices. The finish, original and persistent, oscillates between Caribbean warmth and Scottish maritime freshness. A bold finish that will appeal to lovers of peated whisky as well as rum enthusiasts.
