Opthimus Master Selection 12
A mastered Dominican tradition
Produced in the Dominican Republic, this rum is part of a long tradition of distillation and aging in a tropical climate. Aged according to the solera method in old bourbon barrels, it benefits from a progressive blend that promotes harmony between the different ages. This approach results in a consistent profile, marked by softness and complexity.
Matured in Pedro Ximénez barrels
The particularity of the Opthimus - Master Selection 12 lies in its finish in Pedro Ximénez barrels, which enriches the rum with gourmet nuances. The passage into French oak barrels brings an elegant woody structure, while the influence of the old bourbon barrels reinforces the sweet and spicy notes. The result is a balanced spirit, both round and expressive.
Flavour profile
The nose opens with aromas of coffee and flambéed banana, accompanied by touches of toffee. The palate, long and woody, develops spices with a light texture. The finish, greedy, reveals notes of dried fruit, caramel, vanilla and exotic fruits.
