A Cuban heritage perpetuated in the Dominican Republic

The story of Opthimus begins in Cuba, where the Oliver family produced rum until 1959. After an exile, the tradition was reborn in the 80s in the Dominican Republic, a land offering ideal conditions for the production of great rums. The brand stands out with rums aged in solera, combining sweetness and complexity.

Prolonged ageing enhanced by a finish in Port barrels

This 25 Opthimus year-old benefits from a long ageing, completed by maturation in Port barrels. This finish gives it an additional aromatic generosity, enriching its round and unctuous structure with fruity and woody notes.

An intense and elegant aromatic profile

On the nose, the aromas of sugar cane blend with notes of ripe grapes, on a background of toasted oak. On the palate, the texture is silky, marked by a beautiful roundness where candied fruit, brown sugar and toasted nuances mingle. The finish, long and delicate, allows a persistent candied fruitiness to blossom, the signature of a rum that is both powerful and refined.
