The Cañero Rhum Malt Whisky Finish is the result of the expertise of Juan Alberto Alvarez, a ronero maestro renowned for his unique know-how in the Dominican Republic. This exceptional rum symbolises the meeting of Caribbean tradition and Scottish heritage. The rums selected for this blend matured using the solera method in ex-bourbon barrels before being carefully finished in single malt barrels from the Ben Nevis distillery, marking a distinctive milestone in their evolution.

Formerly known as the Summum Finish Malt Whisky, this rum has evolved to take on an identity of its own, while preserving the essence of its predecessor.

Summum - Canero
Summum / Cañero is a tribute to the Dominican peasants who have been cultivating and harvesting sugar cane for generations. It is in this spirit and in the respect of Cuban-Dominican traditions that our Cuban rum master Juan Alberto Alvarez has developed Cañero, rum of Spanish tradition but distilled from the pure sugar cane juice grown in the Dominican Republic, and aged rigorously according to the traditional Spanish method of solera.
