Aikan French Malt Collection
The share of angels is out of the ordinary, nearly 10%/year compared to 1.5% in Scotland. Aikan French Malt Collection is now recognized that one year of maturation is equivalent in taste to 4 years in temperate climates. The 1st ageing: 1 year in Brittany and the 2nd ageing: 2 years in Martinique. The barrels used are former rum barrels and French barrels.
Our tasting notes for French Malt Collection
Nose : riche et gourmand, il s’ouvre sur des notes de fleur d’oranger, de macis et de noix de muscadeextra, avec des accents fruités sur les agrumes et les fruits rouges (mûre, fraise) puis évolue dans unregistre à la fois plus épicé et herbacé
Palate : riche et suave, elle reprend les notes fruitées et épicées du nez sur un profil encore plusgourmand avec des notes chocolatées et toastées sur les fruits à coque et la cannelle, le tout enrobé desirop d’érable.
Finish : très longue et gourmande sur l’abricot, le zeste d’orange, les baies rouges, la vanille, le malt etle pain d’épices.
Aikan
Aikan means "marriage" in Arawak, the language of the first Amerindians who populated Martinique. Whisky Aikan bears this name because it is the result of a unique marriage between two continents, two climates (temperate in Europe, tropical in the Caribbean), and two exceptional universes, those of Rum and Whisky. This union gives Aikan its subtle and singular character.
