The Tsunuki distillery, directed by the brilliant master distiller Tatsuro Kusano, offers us a pearl of whisky with subtle and intense nuances. Matured for six years in bourbon barrels on the subtropical island of Yakushima, this whisky, lightly peated at 20ppm, reveals an exceptional aromatic richness. We detect exotic scents mixing with tertiary notes, all supported by a peaty and smoky framework that is its soul. Its content of 60% promises an intense tasting. It's more than a whisky, it's an invitation to a sensory journey. A tasting is a must.

Originally from Japan, the Mars distillery has a history as tumultuous as it is out of the ordinary. Its founder is none other than Kiichiro Iwai, the man behind the departure for Scotland of the famous Masataka Taketsuru and especially owner of a spirits company producing shochu (Japanese brandy). The Shinshu Mars distillery enjoys an exceptional geographical location offering its whisky a singular character.
