Neisson XO Cuvée du 3ème Millénaire

Created in 1999 on the occasion of the entry into the new millennium, this cuvée whose circulation is limited to about 2000 bottles per year, is obtained by blending the 10 best barrels of Extra-Vieux or XO rums (rums with more than 6 years of aging in barrels of less than 650 liters).

For this 2012 vintage, white rums from 2001 (80%) and 2003 (20%) were blended.

After a brief softening in oak barrels, the rums of this cuvée were aged on Mars 14, 2002 in 195-litre American barrels and on April 8, 2004, deposed and then blended in May 2012. The ageing then continued in a 2000 litre cask until the draw in September 2012.

This rum has thus benefited from a total of more than 10 and a half years of ageing in wood (barrels and foudres).

Our tasting notes for Cuvée du 3ème Millénaire

Nose : Nez intense et expressif de notes empyreumatiques (torréfaction, fumé, boîte à cigare) et épicées (poivre, vanille). Ce rhum se distingue par une grande complexité aromatique ( notamment la girofle) et une longueur en bouche surprenante

Palate : Bouche ample et souple où le fruit se marie harmonieusement aux notes épicées, avec une persistance aromatique soutenue. ( Caudalie supérieure à 15).
