Before this great bath, these rums were the subject of an exceptional finish: in ex-barrels of the Grand Cru Classé of Pessac Léognan, Château Pape Clément. The barrels of this prestigious Bordeaux wine will give the rum Emperor another aromatic dimension. A great finish for such great depths!

So what about this dive: the tanks are placed in an underwater cellar off the coast of Brittany for 10 months.

The rum is plunged into almost total darkness. The temperature of this atypical cellar varies between 11 and 13°C. The absence of oxygen guarantees the non-oxidation of the rum. The cylinders are subjected to a pressure of 6 bar.

It's hard to predict how the bottles will look after the dive is over, especially when swell and ocean currents add to the equation.

This brand new rum brand was born from the imagination of two enthusiasts, Christophe Aulner, recently installed in Mauritius, and Bruno Le Merle, a local entrepreneur. Their idea? Offer rums assembled with eaux-de vie distilled from pure cane juice and molasses. And there is a certain logic to this project seeing the light of day in Mauritius. The island was first under French (1714-1810) and then English (1810-1968) before gaining independence (1968).
