Papalin is a project dedicated to blends created by Luca Gargano. The idea originated from the desire to revisit the history of rum in the late 1800s, when Jamaican traders began creating blends without indicating from which distilleries they came.
Aged rum blends from the tropics have gradually disappeared since the 1970s, when distilleries began to sell their products: Papalin therefore intends to revive the old tradition. The goal is to group rums from a single island that are fully produced and aged in the distilleries. The first collection is dedicated to Jamaica: Papalin Jamaica.
Velier and Papalin, two opposites
When we talk about Velier, it refers to rum from a single estate, plantation, or dwelling, with a single manufacturing process and often mentioned on the label.
Papalin, on the opposite, was created for the expression of blends by its Patron, Luca Gargano.
