After a first aging in Bourbon barrels at the distillery for 10 years, the rum joined the Château de Bonbonnet in France, for a second aging in Borderies X.O cognac barrels from Maison Ferrand for 6 years and finally a finish (maturation) in Maury barrels for 9 months.

The Maury barrel comes from the cooperative cellar of the Vignerons de Maury. For purists, this is a 2013 Maury Tuilé vintage that was stored in this half muid. Maury is a sweet, charming wine with notes ranging from candied fig, walnuts and toast. The meeting between rum and maury still fresh in the staves makes this great rum of the WIRD, an incomparable rum rare and unique. A haute couture finish!

Thus, each Plantation Single Cask has a unique aging, and each bottle is numbered, the barrels are distinct and the degree differs from one barrel to another. Only a few barrels of these rums are bottled each year, making these expressions real collector's items. Limited edition of 144 bottlesincluding all and numbered for Excellence Rhum.

Maison Ferrand originally maintained privileged relationships with the best distilleries in the Caribbean to which it sells barrels that have contained its Cognac. The barrels of the Ferrand house are very popular with some rum producers who use them to refine their product. During these exchanges, Alexandre Gabriel had the opportunity to discover very old batches with an aromatic richness and a diversity of extraordinary aromas.
