History of the house

Driven by the esprit of adventure, Frères de la Côte accompanies its rums at sea for dynamic aging. Here, the lot travelled for nearly 4 months aboard the sailboat Ide Min, under the command of Captain François, before joining the Saint-Etienne winery.

Product Overview

From the Montebellodistillery, this agricultural rum first rested for 13 months in ex-Bourbon barrels. After its crossing, it continued for a year of ageing in a cellar in Saint-Étienne, then was slowly reduced to 52.7% before the bottling. Presented in 50 cl, the bottle is sealed with a capstan knot and waxed by hand. An artisanal spirit combining barrel aging, marine aging and blending precision.

Tasting notes

  • Appearance: deep gold, shiny, thick teardrops.
  • Nose: bourbon vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg; Pastry notes (butterscotch, custard) and ripe tropical fruits (flambéed banana, candied mango), with a subtle woodiness.
  • Palate: silky texture; vanilla, toasted coconut, stewed fruit (peach, apricot, banana), a hint of honey and brown sugar; sweet spices (candied ginger, white pepper) and vegetable cane freshness.
  • Finish: long, vanilla wood, dried fruit (pecans, toasted almonds) and a touch of bitter cocoa.
