Mignonnette Chartreuse Elixir Liqueur
The Carthusians called on all their science to decipher the grimoire, and their patient work finally came to fruition when Brother Jérôme Maubec, apothecary of the Great Chartreuse, perfected this Elixir with incomparable virtues.
Very quickly it became obvious that this powerful remedy with an exceptional bouquet should be made into a particularly pleasant digestive drink. The first liqueur, ancestor of the Green Chartreuse , was born.
It is this very first liqueur that the Carthusians are reviving today, naming it "Liqueur d'Elixir", in order to commemorate the handing over of the manuscript to the Carthusians of Vauvert 400 years ago.
