History of the monastic liquor
Born in 1840 under the name of "Liqueur de Santé", the Green Chartreuse 35cl is the result of the original recipe of the Vegetable Elixir of the Great Chartreuse. Its growing popularity led Père Garnier to officially register the trademark "Chartreuse" in 1852. To this day, this liqueur is carefully crafted by the Carthusian Fathers at the Aiguenoire distillery, located in Entre-Deux-Guiers, Isère - France. This spirit, heir to a unique know-how, continues to perpetuate the monastic tradition.
