Chartreuse Elixir Vegetal
This Elixir, developed by Brother Jérôme Maubec in 1737, took the name of Elixir Végétal de la Grande Chartreuse. Today, in their distillery in Voiron (Isère), the Carthusians continue to make this Elixir, the secret of which they have preciously held for four centuries. The virtues of the Great Chartreuse Plant Elixir lie first and foremost in the natural use of plants, sugar and honey, to the exclusion of any artificial product.
Method of consumption - a few drops on a sugar cube - pure in a little sugar water - in a herbal tea or in a toddy - in a cup of hot water
