Arranged rum is also called punch in the West Indies (not to be confused with planter punch made from fruit juices). Originally, punch comes from the Hindu "panch" which means five. Five ingredients are used: rum, sugar, fruit, spice and tea. While tea is not very common today, aromatics also work very well.
