L'Habitation Saint-Étienne, terroir of Gros-Morne

L'Habitation Saint-Étienne (HSE) is a Martinican distillery located in Gros-Morne, in the center of the island. It makes its AOC Martinique agricultural rums from pure cane juice grown on its own land. This VO (Old) is the first level of the old range, with a minimum ageing of 3 years in oak barrels, in accordance with AOC regulations.

Introduction to old HSE rum

The nose is pleasant and fruity, with notes of vanilla, banana, residual cane and a touch of wood. The palate is supple and balanced, offering aromas of caramel, tropical fruits, sweet spices and a discreet woodiness. The finish is medium and pleasant. A very well made, versatile entry-level old rum — excellent in tasting, in old cocktails or in Ti-Vieux.

Saint-Étienne was built on the foundations of "La Maugée", a sugar factory whose land extended in the early nineteenth century over more than 400 hectares, from Gros-Morne to Saint-Joseph in Martinique
