History of the distillery

Founded in 1845 by Jean-Marie Martin, the J.M distillery produces its agricultural rums in Macouba, at the foot of Mount Pelée. Between the Roches River and the Macouba River, the unique environment favours an exceptional rod. Located in the heart of the 300 hectares of the Fonds-Préville estate (created in 1790), the house perpetuates a recognized artisanal distillery know-how, dedicated to spirits of character and authenticity.

From the Crassous distillery in Médeuil, Rhum J.M - 1986 vintage honors the estate's cane, distilled on site to preserve its agricultural expression. This rum from Martinique illustrates the precision of the house: rigorous selection and aging in barrels to serve the structure and length. A reference vintage, 1986 is aimed at lovers of great spirits: ideal served neat at room temperature, it can also wait in the cellar for a measured evolution of the profile, in accordance with the J.M. signature.

Rhum J.M

Located in the north of the island of Martinique and at the foot of Mount Pelée, the Rhumerie J.M distills and raises old J.M. rums. It was in 1914 that Jean-Marie Martin, who gave his name to JM rums, sold the property to Gustave Crassous de Médeuil.
