A creative and experimental project

The Braud & Quennesson distillery is once again distinguished by its artisanal approach and its constant desire for innovation. With the "Capsules" series, it offers carte blanche to its Cellar Masters to explore new expressions of rum from the French West Indies. The Single Cask Humo cuvée — Xavier Piron's first creation — symbolizes this approach, subtly linking cane and agave.

An assembly between two worlds

Distilled from Roseau cane (B59.92) from the Fond Poterie, Palmiste and Lyon plots, this rum has been aged for 9 months in ex-Mezcal barrels. Bottled at 63.5% vol., it retains all the purity of its origin and the complexity of its singular ageing.

A unique aromatic profile

Its honey colour with copper reflections precedes a nose dominated by fresh cane and notes of agave and sweet spices. On the palate, the supple attack reveals a fine and taut texture, before an empyreumatic and saline finish where the character of the Mezcal is fully expressed. An innovative rum, between tradition and experimentation.

The Habitation Grand Fonds, which houses the Braud & Quennesson rum distillery, named after the engineers who created the sugar factory, was built in 1866.
