An experimental series driven by high standards

With the Capsule Series, the Braud & Quennesson distillery explores atypical profiles in small quantities. Pyrus, the house's first used car and the second edition of this collection, is part of this approach. Imagined with the contribution of Lyse Carlier, this rum testifies to a desire to push back the traditional frameworks of French West Indies rum.

An atypical fruit-oriented ageing

This single cask, limited to 350 bottles, benefits from an initial ageing of 2 years and 3 months in Cognac barrels, bringing structure and complexity. It is then matured for 9 months in pear barrels, a rare step that clearly orients the aromatic profile. This process gives this spirit a marked identity, at the crossroads of rum-making know-how and a controlled search for innovation.

Gourmet and precise aromatic profile

The palette reveals notes of poached pear, supported by candied citrus fruits and delicate pastry nuances. The whole offers a harmonious balance between fruity freshness and roundness, in a register that is both accessible and structured.

The Habitation Grand Fonds, which houses the Braud & Quennesson rum distillery, named after the engineers who created the sugar factory, was built in 1866.
