The volcanic terroir of Fonds-Préville

The J.M. distillery, founded in 1845 in Fonds-Préville in the north of Martinique, benefits from a unique volcanic terroir , irrigated by the Roches River which descends from Mount Pelée. This 2012 vintage is an agricultural rum distilled in a Creole column from pure cane juice, then aged for more than 6 years in oak barrels in the distillery's tropical cellars, reaching the prestigious Hors d'âge category.

The fullness of a great vintage

The nose is rich and complex: cocoa, blond tobacco, candied fruit, vanilla and spices blend harmoniously. The palate is ample and structured, carried by notes of fine wood, liquorice, prune and a volcanic minerality characteristic of J.M. The long and elegant finish oscillates between caramelized sweetness and spicy freshness. A great rum for contemplation, testimony to the best of the Martinique terroir.

Rhum J.M

Located in the north of the island of Martinique and at the foot of Mount Pelée, the Rhumerie J.M distills and raises old J.M. rums. It was in 1914 that Jean-Marie Martin, who gave his name to JM rums, sold the property to Gustave Crassous de Médeuil.
