Two stills, a single barrel

This rum was distilled in 2012 at St. Lucia Distillers, at the foot of the famous Pitons. The blend combines the distillate of John Dore 1, a copper pot still producing fruity and round eaux-de-vie, with that of Vendome, a hybrid column that brings structure and complexity. After 8 years of tropical aging in a single ex-bourbon barrel, the rum is bottled 59.6% cask strength, without filtration or reduction. bar 1802 hotel monte cristo paris.jpg

Tropical power and greed

The nose reveals an intense bouquet of honey, maple syrup and ripe papaya, enhanced with caramel and sweet spices. The palate confirms with a generous substance, carried by vanilla, candied tropical fruits and subtle empyreumatic notes. The finish, long and warm, is the result of a rum of character selected by the team at Bar 1802, a Parisian rum mecca with more than 500 references.
