From Trinidad to the cellars of Maison Ferrand

Distilled in 2016 by Trinidad Distillers Ltd., this rum is made from molasses. Its maturation begins on its island of origin, where it stays for 5 years in bourbon barrels in a tropical climate. It is then transferred to France, to the cellars of Maison Ferrand, to continue its maturation in cognac barrels.

A mezcal barrel finish

The last stage of its ageing is the particularity of this Single Cask edition. The rum benefits from an additional 12 months in an old mezcal cask, creating a meeting between two traditions of spirits with distinct origins. This multi-stage journey illustrates the experimental approach of the Plantation Single Cask collection and its interest in atypical barrel finishes.

Plantation Rum

The house of Cognac, Cognac Ferrand is at the origin of this fascinating brand that is Plantation Rum. Maison Ferrand originally maintained privileged relationships with the best distilleries in the Caribbean to which it sells barrels that have contained its Cognac. The barrels of the Ferrand house are very popular with some rum producers who use them to refine their product. During these exchanges, Alexandre Gabriel had the opportunity to discover very old batches with an aromatic richness and a diversity of extraordinary aromas.
