After spending two decades maturing on the volcanic mountain, this rum witnessed an explosion just before the ship docked in Santa Cruz de La Palma.

Only the know-how of the master rum maker, José, coupled with the magic of nature, has shaped this drink, distilled from locally produced Guarapo and heated over a wood fire. It then rested in Iberian oak barrels, to be kept for a year in Pineau des Charentes and Sherry Oloroso barrels.

What is Captain's Choice?

The Captain's Choice is an exclusive edition with limited production. It represents the pinnacle of rum, the one that only the captain can select. Naturally, it is not only distinguished by its barrel support. However, mysteries remain well guarded...!

Provenance and elaboration

After 20 years of maturation, this rich and powerful rum left the island, kept in barrels of Pineau des Charentes and Sherry Oloroso.

The sugar cane comes from Aldea's own land. It is grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Following distillation, the rum has aged for 20 years in barrels ex-Bourbon and Spanish oak, before experiencing a second maturation in the hold of the Tres Hombres.

With the ship in constant motion, the interaction with the wood is amplified. Pineau des Charentes and Sherry Oloroso barrels soaked the drink during his time on board, culminating in an unforgettable finish.

And the bottle in all this?

The visual aspect of this unique bottle was imagined by one of the sailors on board. The elegant illustration refers to the figurehead of the Tres Hombres.

The rums TRES HOMBRES are transported from the Caribbean by the schooner of the same name, bottled in Amsterdam by the company Fairtransport of which les frères de la côte are representative in France.
