Hemingway's adventure L'esprit in a bottle

The Hemingway Rum Company, based in Key West , Florida, pays tribute to the writer and adventurer through its Papa's Pilar brand, named after the boat that Hemingway acquired in 1934. The rums are hand-selected from Barbados, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Venezuela and Florida, then blended using a solera process in bourbon and port barrels. This special edition benefits from a final refinement in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks.

A complex and warm blend

The bottle, inspired by a military gourd from the Second World War, houses a rum with a deep mahogany colour. The nose offers notes of hazelnut, toffee and toasted oak. On the palate, the profile is generous and spicy, mixing flavours of dark chocolate, dried fruit and vanilla, supported by the vinous imprint of sherry. The finish is long, warm and delicately woody. A 43% tasting rum that seduces with its depth.

Papa's Pilar

In homage to Hemingway or rather to his ship, this brand based in Florida, assembles rum aged in solera method or barrels and come from Barbados, Dominican Republic and Panama.
