An exceptional vintage

From the single harvest of 2008, Damoiseau Cuvée Subprime was placed in 220-litre ex-bourbon oak barrels before being bottled at the end of 2015. This controlled ageing gives it a beautiful complexity, with a subtle balance between power and refinement, characteristic of the great rums of Guadeloupe.

An intense and evolving aromatic profile

On the nose, this rum expresses a dominant vegetal with notes of pine, fern and resinous undergrowth, enhanced by fresh spices such as cumin and anise. A touch of olive and raisin brings depth, while a slight fruity accent, reminiscent of strawberry candy, nuances the whole.

On the palate, the attack is ample and concentrated, marked by aromas of plum, prune and black liquorice. The mellow texture is enriched with notes of olive and ripe exotic fruits, offering a nice density typical of heavy rums. The finish, although gradually fading, leaves a pleasant persistence on flavors of candied fruit and prunes in brandy, thus prolonging the tasting experience.
