William Hinton Natural Branco Especial Agricultural Rum
A tribute to Madeira's sugar tradition
This rum is named after William Hinton, a major figure in the island's sugar industry. The distillery continues its legacy by producing rums of great purity, where the influence of Madeira's climate and volcanic soils is fully felt.
A lively and aromatic profile
The nose opens with a lively freshness, mixing metallic and tangy notes with aromas of citrus and fresh currants. With aeration, touches of red fruits, mint and kaffir lime appear, bringing even more complexity. On the palate, the attack is powerful and full-bodied, marked by sharp acidity and spicy flavours of pepper and cane bark. The long, tangy finish prolongs the freshness of the fermented cane juice.
William Hinton
It was in 1845 that William Hinton founded the only distillery on the island of Madeira. But production eventually stops over time. It finally resumed with the opening of the Engenho Novo da Madeira (ENM) distillery by one of the descendants of William Hinton.
