William Hinton 6 years old Madeira agricultural rum
The island of Madeira, the forgotten cradle of European rum
It was in 1845 that the Englishman William Hinton founded the only distillery on the island of Madeira, the volcanic pearl of the Atlantic. After decades of interruption, production resumed thanks to the opening of the Engenho Novo da Madeira distillery in Estreito da Calheta, led by a direct descendant of the founder. The rum is made according to the agricultural method, from pure freshly pressed cane juice, and benefits from the Rhum Agricole appellation.
Six years in French oak for a strong character
This 6 William Hinton year-old matured in French oak barrels in the subtropical Madeiran climate. The nose delivers aromas of dried fruit, figs and vanilla, enhanced by touches of cinnamon and toasted oak. On the palate, roundness and balance are combined with notes of honey, cocoa and sweet spices. Each bottle is numbered, underlining the confidential nature of this limited edition.
