William Hinton 6 years Madeira Cask
The marriage of agricultural rum and Madeira wine
Distilled from pure cane juice at the Engenho Novo da Madeira distillery, this rum was first aged for six years in French oak barrels before being finished for an extended period in barrels that contained prestigious Madeira wine. This double ageing gives the spirit a rare aromatic complexity, where the characteristics of agricultural rum meet the vinous notes specific to the Madeiran terroir.
A wine profile of remarkable intensity
The colour is adorned with deep mahogany reflections. On the nose, aromas of candied fruit, raisins and noble wood mingle with nuances of caramel and balsamic. On the palate, the texture is dense and warm, with flavours of dark chocolate, roasted coffee and oriental spices. The finish, long and enveloping, reveals a trail of liquorice and ripe fruit. Limited and numbered edition, this rum is aimed at amateurs looking for a tasting experience off the beaten track.

It was in 1845 that William Hinton founded the only distillery on the island of Madeira. But production eventually stops over time. It finally resumed with the opening of the Engenho Novo da Madeira (ENM) distillery by one of the descendants of William Hinton.
