The last steam engine in Martinique

Located in Lamentin, in the center of Martinique, La Favorite is one of the last two family-owned and independent distilleries on the island. Owned by the Dormoy family since 1905, it is the only one still entirely steam-powered, thanks to a century-old machine that is still in operation. Another particularity: all the canes are cut by hand, an expensive practice but which preserves the freshness of the juice.

Creole softness and vivacity

The Cœur de Canne cuvée is the flagship of the La Favorite whites, reputed to be the sweetest in the AOC. The nose opens with freshly cut cane, citrus and white flowers. On the palate, the attack is frank and spicy — pepper, cloves — before giving way to a creamy roundness and notes of exotic fruits. The long and silky finish confirms an exceptional white rum, ideal for ti-punch.

Nose : Son nez s’ouvre sur des notes de canne fraichement coupée. A l’ouverture, les agrumes et les fruits exotiques se dévoilent.

Palate : Sa bouche, onctueuse, confirme les arômes du nez.

Finish : Des notes subtiles de fleurs blanches s’invitent en finale.
