The odyssey of anniversary cuvées

To celebrate its 180 years of existence, the La Favorite distillery is offering a limited series highlighting the different sugar cane harvests that took place from March to June 2022. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to taste the Martinique terroir through these four exclusive cuvées of white agricultural rum, named La Favorite Cuvée 180 years.

The art of aging in oak barrels

The secret of La Favorite rums lies in their aging method in French oak barrels. Some cuvées can thus rest for over 30 years before being bottled. The tannins of the wood give these distillates a unique amber color, varying in intensity and depth over time.

It is interesting to note that the tropical environment accelerates maturation, making "disappear" a portion of the alcohol contained in the barrels each year, a phenomenon poetically called "the angels' share". To compensate for this natural evaporation, the cellar master proceeds annually to topping up, adding other rums of the same age to refill the barrels.

The promise of impeccable quality

Throughout its rich history, La Favorite has managed to preserve its independence and artisanal methods. With a production limited to nearly 500,000 liters of rum at 55% per year, the House maintains a high level of demand, ensuring to select only the best sugar canes for each of its cuvées. From harvest to bottling, nothing is left to chance to offer aficionados an exceptional tasting experience.
