This La Favorite - Les Frères De La Côte - Navigation 2024 Cuvée n°1 is the result of a fascinating adventure. This rum from the family distillery La Favorite in Martinique was first aged for 22 months on the island, imbued with notes of fresh sugar cane, before being placed in ex-bourbon barrels of the Tonnellerie Navarre. Embarked on the sailboat Tres Hombres for a crossing of the Atlantic, it has undergone sea ageing which gives it an exceptional complexity and a unique aromatic profile.
A dynamic ageing that sublimates authenticity
The ocean swell allowed the rum to interact with its barrel, creating natural overoxygenation and precise alcoholic integration. This process at sea gives it a particular roundness and complexity that distinguishes it from other rums. The dynamic ageing intensifies the exchanges with the oak, adding a subtle woody touch to the initial freshness.
Two versions for a unique experience
To explore the nuances of this dynamic ageing, a mignonette of the rum before its dynamic ageing, without sea crossing, is provided with the 70cl bottle.
