The Saint Etienne distillery, guardian of the Martinique terroir

Established in Gros-Morne since the eighteenth century, the Saint Etienne distillery — better known by the acronym HSE — grows sugar cane on volcanic soil rich in minerals. The freshly squeezed cane juice is fermented and then distilled in a Creole column, before starting a long stay in the tropical climate of Martinique. Classified as AOC Martinique, this rum respects strict specifications that guarantee the authenticity of each vintage.

Eight years of patience rewarded

After 8 years of ageing in oak barrels, this rum has a deep amber colour. The nose opens with warm notes of candied fruit, vanilla and cocoa. On the palate, the texture is ample and silky, enhanced by touches of sweet spices, blond tobacco and fine wood. The finish persists for a long time, mixing fruity roundness and tannic elegance. A meditation rum to be enjoyed neat, in a tulip glass.
